Information about Amendment Applications

Due to the corona situation, all partnerships must renegotiate and/or amend the current agreement with Norec.

Norec would like to draw your attention to the heading called “Verifications” in the agreement. This allows for an “amendment or renegotiation“ “in whole or in part” in case of “a discontinuation of the project due to force majeure condition”.

Templates for amending your agreement

All partnerships must renegotiate and/or amend the current agreement to correspond with the situation. We ask you to specify your suggestions for amendments through an amendment application to your Norec programme adviser within the 1st of June 2020.

What can be included in the amendment?

When you write your amendment application, the most important thing is to look into the needs you have and identify costs that are essential for the continuation of your project. If there is no need to apply for further funds, the most important is to revise the budget so it corresponds with the reality of the situation the project is currently in.

The competence you have built in the partnership on exchange and organisational development is essential. Therefore, the budgets lines that will be given priority are administrative costs. Norec will cover costs of administration for the remaining part of 2020.

You can apply to extend participant contracts (see below for details). It should be well-founded in the suggested activities.

You can also apply for funding for activities extending beyond the current result framework if it is targeting development within your partnership.

Please be informed that no cost related to international travels or other costs related to new participants shall take place during this period.

The time frame for the amended agreement will be from the end of the current contract or the 14th of July, until the end of 2020.

We encourage you to consider revising budget lines that contribute to:

  • Further develop or sustain any of the expected results within you project
  • Strengthen the quality of your organisationsability to host and mentor young people on exchange
  • Further develop monitoring tools to keep track of progress
  • Explore new ways to develop organisationallearning within your current partnership

Conditions and timeline

In order to amend your agreement, you must have a track record of satisfactory results reporting and efficient, transparent and appropriate use of funds.

The deadline for submitting your amendment application is the 1st of June 2020. However, please discuss your thoughts and ideas with your programme adviser in Norec as soon as possible and no later than the end of 11th of May.

In the amended agreement application, please make notes in the budget that specify the exact amount that is being revised. Please use the same budget lines as you would have used for a regular project application, and do not create new budget lines.

Clarifications regarding participant contracts

  • Participants still on exchange in host country that have contracts that run beyond the 14thof July will continue until the end of their contract, if this is justifiable taking the security of the participants into consideration. You may apply to extend this further than the current contract if that serves the results of the partnership.
  • Participants who have not been able to go on exchange, or who have had to go to their home country, need to terminate their contracts on 14th July. You may apply to extend this further than the current contract if that serves the results of the partnership.
