To partners with participants still on exchange

Norec has followed the global development of the covid-19 pandemic closely over the past weeks. It is evident that the world will be in a state of emergency for a longer period than we were hoping for a month ago.

Latest update: 27.04.2020

There are travel restrictions in and between almost all countries, including flights being stopped    and restrictions on handling of visa applications. It does not seem like travelling will be normalised before November 2020 at the earliest, maybe even not until 2021. This affects the Norec exchange projects and your partnerships.

To partners with participants still on exchange

  • Monitor the situation closely. Depending on how much time is remaining before the agreements end, make plans on how and when the participants should return home.
  • We recommend host organisations to keep the embassies of the participant’s home country informed. They might be able to assist if needed.

Norec will invite you to online meetings in the nearest future. In these meetings, we will present how we will follow up administratively on the changes occurring. We will also present what we can support for your partnership in this phase when exchanges cannot go as normal, and how to apply. Invitations and information will be sent to you separately.
