The Organic Farming Promotion Programme aims to support young people’s participation in agriculture as a tool for sustainable development. The participants will spread awareness and share tools to help farmers enhance crop yields and create sustainable livelihoods, such as soil testing, seed treatment and crop selection.

As a countermeasure against rapid urbanisation, the project aims to give young citizens the knowledge to create sustainable livelihoods through organic, sustainable farming.

The overall goals for the project are to increase youth participation in agriculture, and to create a platform for farmers, youth, women and government representatives to promote and champion organic farming. Through partnership with Integrated Village Development Service (IVDS) the participants will get insight into specific farming practices, which they will in turn teach to local youth groups. With Parmath Samaj Sevi Sansthan (PSSS), the participants will work on plot development, and learn specific techniques for crop management post-harvest.
