Responsible business conduct webinar

Responsible Business Conduct in the context of Land Uses and Land Rights

Norec and the National Contact Point for Responsible Business Conduct Norway (NCP Norway) will co-host a webinar on Responsible Business Conduct (RBC), with focus on land use and land rights. The webinar targets multinational companies operating in African countries and will take place on 10 November 2026, from 09:00 to 10:30 CET.

Land use and land rights are important considerations within RBC for multinational enterprises. Business activities can influence how land is used and affect the rights and interests of those who own, occupy, access, or otherwise hold legitimate tenure rights to land. The OECD Due Diligence Guidance for RBC highlights the importance of risk-based due diligence and meaningful stakeholder engagement to identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for adverse impacts. In some countries, standards of RBC go beyond national laws and regulations. Companies should seek ways to comply with these standards in ways that do not violate domestic laws.

During the webinar, Norec will introduce its requirements on responsible business conduct for organisations applying for funding for international work exchange. NCP Norway will present the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on RBC and provide practical guidance on due diligence related to land use and land rights. Selected companies will also share examples of how they apply OECD due diligence in practice. Please register your interest to attend.
