Norec participant and partner trainings 2026-2027

Norec’s trainings are designed to support both participants and partner organisations throughout the exchange cycle, from preparation to learning and follow-up.

Our preparatory training equips participants for living and working in a new culture.

The homecoming training supports participants in re-adapting after the exchange and in turning their learning into concrete action within their home organisation.

Both trainings are delivered as six-day, in-person courses. For exchanges shorter than six months, the homecoming training is shorter and conducted digitally.

We also offer partner training for all new projects in their first exchange round. This training aims to give involved staff a shared understanding of the Norec programme, strengthen project management and partnership collaboration, and ensure that learning and results are effectively planned, followed up, and integrated into organisational practice.

2026

  • 09 - 14 August: Preparatory and homecoming training, Bogota, Colombia
  • 16 - 21 August: Preparatory and homecoming training, Nairobi, Kenya
  • 20 - 25 September: Preparatory and homecoming training, Kathmandu, Nepal

  • 04 - 06 November: Partner training (Norec Exchange), Nairobi, Kenya.
  • 29 Nov - 04 December: Homecoming training, Lusaka, Zambia
  • 09 - 10 December: Digital homecoming for exchanges below 6 months

2027

  • 17 - 22 January: Preparatory and homecoming training, Nairobi, Kenya
  • 14 - 19 February: Preparatory and homecoming training, Bogota, Colombia
  • 14 - 19 February: Homecoming training, Lilongwe, Malawi
  • TBD: February: Preparatory training, Africa (Data and place ready by July 26)
  • 14 - 19 March: Preparatory and homecoming training, Kathmandu, Nepal
  • 23 - 24 April: Digital homecoming for exchanges below 6 months
  • 14 - 19 June: Homecoming training, Nairobi, Africa
  • August-September: Preparatory training and homecoming training, Africa. Dates and place are tentative 15 - 20 August and 12 - 17 September). TBD July 2026.
  • September: Preparatory training and homecoming training, Kathmandu, Nepal. Dates are tentative 12-17. September. TBD Aug 2026.
  • December: Digital homecoming 9 - 10. December.
  • 5 - 10 December: Digital homecoming, Africa. Place TBD Aug 2026.
