This project brings together teachers and students in Norway and Uganda to explore climate-smart farming. The goal is to share knowledge on sustainable practices like circular economy, organic farming and the use of seed banks. Pupils will work in school gardens and farms and learn how to grow healthy food in ways that protect the environment. They will also pass on this knowledge to other students, teachers, parents and local communities. Farmers in both countries face serious challenges from climate change, including unpredictable rainfall, soil erosion and the loss of nutrients from the soil. In Uganda, these problems have affected food security for over 20 years. In Norway, similar issues are now becoming more visible. Both partners also see a need to make better use of indigenous knowledge that offers safer, low-cost alternatives, and they aim to find practical and locally adapted solutions.
