The “Umunthu” exchange project brings together partners in Malawi and Uganda to reduce trafficking, sexual abuse and exploitation among young people. The project uses sports as a tool to build physical health, teamwork and leadership through tournaments, fitness classes and recreational activities. Alongside this, the partners raise awareness about trafficking and provide vital support to survivors, including education, legal assistance and rehabilitation. The project also focuses on reproductive health education and life skills training to empower youth to make informed choices. By creating safe spaces and engaging communities and local governments, the project strengthens protection and promotes the rights of vulnerable young people.
