About the country-based networks
We have established country-based networks where we have a large number of members. Bringing members together in the same country makes it easier to organise activities, share experiences and build strong networks that last.
As of September 2026, there are country-based networks in Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia and Tanzania. Nepal and Bangladesh will also establish networks later this year.
Each network has its own WhatsApp group and mailing list, making it easy for members to stay in touch.

Kenya
The country-based network in Kenya was established in August 2025. Kenya has more Norec Network members than any other country, with 284 members as of September 2026.
The network has mapped the knowledge, experience and skills of its members. This makes it easier for members to find and support each other, whether they need advice, useful contacts or practical help.

Malawi
The country-based network in Malawi was established in February 2025 and has 200 members. In 2025, the network organised four activities, both in person and online.
Members live across the country, often far from each other. Online activities therefore play an important role in keeping the network connected.

Uganda
Uganda was the first country to establish a country-based network, in January 2025. It now has 191 members. In 2025, they organised several activities, both in person and online.
Members also use an active WhatsApp group to stay in touch and share knowledge and experiences.

Zambia
The country-based network in Zambia was established in June 2026, making it one of our newest networks.
The network is still getting established and has not yet organised any activities, but there are already plans for future activities.

Tanzania
The country-based network in Tanzania was established in September 2026 and has 238 members.
Over the years, Tanzania has sent more Norec participants on exchange than any other country.

Nepal
We are looking forward to establishing a country-based network in Nepal in November 2026. More information on the network and how to get involved will be available soon.
Bangladesh
We are looking forward to establishing a country-based network in Bangladesh in November 2026. More information on the network and how to get involved will be available soon.
