Norec Grant for Work Exchange Cooperation

Norec supports global partnerships for sustainable development by funding work exchanges. The grant programme gives young professionals the chance to gain international experience and expertise about sustainable development.

The application process consists of two connected phases:

Phase 1: Concept Development

  • Applicants send a short description of their project idea to Norec.
  • If approved, they will receive funding to meet in person and further develop their idea.
  • Norec will provide advice and training on working effectively with an international partner and planning a successful work exchange project.

Phase 2: Project Implementation

  • After Phase 1, applicants can submit a full project application.
  • If approved, the partners will receive funding to carry out the work exchange project.
  • Norec will provide additional advice and training on working effectively with an international partner and running a successful work exchange project.

Timeline 2025 – 2026

  • 1 September 2025: Apply for Phase 1
  • February 2026*: Apply for Phase 2
  • April 2026*: Approval or refusal of project application
  • August 2026*: If approved, start work exchange

  • February/March 2026: Apply for Phase 1
  • August 2026: Apply for Phase 2
  • October 2026: Approval or refusal of project application
  • Januar 2027: If approved, start work exchange
