Apply for a Norec Work Exchange Project

For those of you who are brand new applicants

When to apply

This grant scheme is not yet open for applications. The application period will run from June to September 2005.

You may have seen a deadline of 1 June 2025 mentioned on our front page. Please note that the 1 June-deadline applies only to applicants who have completed a feasibility study in 2024 or 2025.

Deadline

The next deadline to apply for new applicants will be 1 September 2025, for Work Exchange Projects starting in August/September 2026.

Call for Proposals

The official Call for Proposals will be published on norec.no 2 June 2025. This will include details on how to apply.

The application process

The application process consists of two phases:

Phase 1: Develop your idea

  • First, applicants send a short description of their project idea (a concept note) to Norec. Norec will check if the idea fits the programme.
  • If it is approved, the applicants will get funding to meet in person and improve their idea.
  • Norec will also give advice and training in how to work well with an international partner and how to plan a good work exchange project.

Phase 2: Work Exchange Project begins

  • After Phase 1, applicants can send a full project application.
  • If the application is approved, the partners will get funding to run a work exchange project.
  • The first step is to find and select the people (staff) who will go on the exchange.

How to apply and who is eligible?

More information on eligibility and the application process will be shared in the next Call for Proposals 2 June.

Norec will also host webinars for those interested in applying. These webinars will cover:

  • Who can apply
  • The criteria for assessment
  • How to apply
  • The application process and expectations if your project is approved

Details about the webinars, including dates and registration, will be shared 2 June 2025.

How you can prepare before June

You can look at the current Call for Proposals. The application process will be slightly different, but the criterias will be similar.
