PARTNER TRAINING, KATHMANDU, NEPAL

Due to the civil unrest in Nepal in September, we unfortunately had to cancel the partner training originally planned for October. After a thorough review of the current situation, we are pleased to announce a new date for the training.
You are hereby cordially invited to Norec’s partner training, which will take place at Park Village Hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 03 to 05 December 2025.
The partner training is mandatory for all coordinators and should preferably be done within the first round of your project. All new coordinators with projects in Asia are invited. Other personnel involved in the Norec exchanges are also welcome but limited to two persons per partner. Norec will send invitations to relevant partners.

Intended learning outcome
- Understand and apply the Norec framework:
- Know the roles, responsibilities, rights and duties in a Norec project
- Apply Norecs ethical guidelines in practice, with particular attention to SEAH in intercultural contexts
- Understanding Norecs Theory of Change
- Strenghten your global partnerships
- Know best practices for building and sustaining equitable global partnerships
- Reflect how your partnership can deal with reciprocity, mutual trust and power dynamics.
- Enhance project management and organizational learning
- How to achieve, measure and monitor progress – and ensure transfer of knowledge and mutual learning.
- Navigate Intercultural challenges and opportunities.
- Identify and adress intercultural challenges in project implementation
- Develop intercultural competence and leadership skills relevant to the Norec context.
- Prepare and support participants effectively
- Plan and execute practical preparation and follow up of participants before, during and after the exchange.
- Know the content of Norecs trainings.
- Ensure follow up mechanisms are in place to support learning and re-integration.

Practical information
The programme will start on Wednesday 03 December at 09:00, and finish on Friday 05 December at 16:00.
All attendees are expected to arrive in Kathmandu on Tuesday 02 December, and depart on Friday 5th December in the evening or Saturday 6th December in the morning. Norec will cover full board and lodging during these days. Attendees residing in Kathmandu are also welcome to stay at the hotel.
Norec will organize and cover airport transfers in Kathmandu. Attendees will have to arrange flight tickets to/from Nepal. These costs are covered through the Norec-funded projects. Should you have questions regarding the purchase of flight tickets, please contact your program adviser.
Park Village Hotel is located in Budhanilkantha. It is located about 30 minutes away from the city centre and the airport, at the foothills of Shivapuri National Park.
Entry and VISA: Attendees are responsible for complying with all relevant rules and regulations during their trip. And it is each attendee’s responsibility to make sure that they fulfil all requirements for entering Nepal.
