Exchange That Matters: Inspiring Voices from Norway and the Global South

03
februar

Deichman Library, Oslo (Lunden, 4th floor) / streaming available

This session is a part of Oslo SDG Conference 2026. and will take place in Oslo tuesday 3rd of February from 1200-1315 (CET), at Deichmanske in the room Lunden – fourth floor. The session will also be streamed.

A recent NIFU study has sparked debate by showing that studying abroad does not automatically make graduates more attractive to Norwegian employers. This raises an important question: What kind of international experience truly adds value?

We will bring together four inspiring participants who has been a part of Norec’s exchange programme. They will  share personal stories of learning, challenges, and transformation. Through authentic narratives and open dialogue, you’ll discover how international exchange can shape young people’s lives and create lasting impact for individuals and communities.

Norec offers exchange programs that provide practical work experience, intercultural competence, and global networks — skills experts consider essential for the future of work. Unlike traditional study abroad, Norec exchanges are practice-based: participants learn in real work settings, solve concrete tasks, and build relationships that last.

Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking session for anyone curious about international opportunities — and be inspired by how you can gain skills that matter for a sustainable future.

Sign up for our session to get the streaming link. If you want to be present in Oslo, make sure to arrive early to get your seat.
