18 March 2026 — 09:00–10:30 (Norwegian time, CET)
With Dr. Benjamin Weinstein & Norec Trainings Advisor Nadia Nardelli

Navigating a new cultural and professional environment is exciting — but it can also be challenging. Many people on international exchange experience the culture shock curve as they settle into a new context. Feelings of uncertainty, stress, or emotional fatigue are normal, and understanding them is a powerful first step toward resilience.

In this webinar, psychologist Dr. Benjamin Weinstein and Norec training advisor Nadia Nardelli will guide you through what typically happens during cultural adaptation and how you can take care of your mental well‑being while abroad. You will learn:

  • What culture shock is — and why it happens
  • Common emotional and psychological reactions
  • Practical tools for staying grounded and resilient
  • Simple mental‑hygiene practices you can use throughout your exchange
  • How your own coping strategies and expectations shape your experience

The main session will be followed by an optional Q&A, where you can bring your reflections and questions.

The webinar will be held in English.

  • Who can join?

The webinar is designed especially for Norec participants aged 18–35, but it is equally relevant for anyone preparing to work or live in a new cultural context.
