Based in poor regions of their countries, the two organisations work with healthcare of women and children. Through the project, the partners aim to share knowledge from one country to another to enhance their capacity within this field. The focus of the project will be on improved maternal and neonatal healthcare, through improved nutrition and structures related to the care of newborns.
The region suffers from a lack of relevant health personnel in the field, and the project aims to improve the access to sufficient health care. Effort for Rural Advancement works in the community of South Sunamgonj Upazila and aim to improve maternal and neonatal health care services, as well as implementing a school-based healthcare service approach of their partner organisation Rural Institution for Community Development (RICOD). RICOD on the other hand focus especially on mothers, including pregnant, lactating and mothers with children under 2 years of age. They aim to increase the use of nutritious supplementary food for children from 6-24 months, as well as enhance safe delivery of babies.
