While positioned in two different countries these organisations have a mutual goal: to empower female handicraft entrepreneurs, and to improve the entrepreneurial environment in their communities. The female entrepreneurs all produce handicrafts based on ancestral traditions, but are struggling to compete on a national and international market.

This project has three main goals: to work with these entrepreneurs on improving the quality of their handicrafts, organise additional activities that will empower them financially, and train them in design. The exchange participants will contribute their practical and historical knowledge about their own handicrafts, while also conducting studies and reviews on the quality of products and market possibilities, to advise other female entrepreneurs about export opportunities and income generation.
