Organic farming promotion programme aims to support young people’s participation in agriculture as a tool for sustainable development. The participants will work on awareness on soil testing, seed treatment and crop selection; a selection of tools to help farmers enhance their growths and create sustainable livelihoods.
As a countermeasure against rapid urbanisation, the project aims to create young citizens with the knowledge to create sustainable livelihoods through organic, sustainable farming
The overall goals for the project is to increase youth participation in agriculture, and in doing so, creating a platform for farmer, youth, women and government representatives to promote and champion organic farming. For the partner Integrated Village Development Service (IVDS) the participants will get insight into specific gardening practices, which they in turn will communicate to local youth groups. The participants will also work with local farmers to raise awareness on soil testing, seed treatment and crop selection. For Parmath Samaj Sevi Sansthan (PSSS), the participants will work on plot development, and specific techniques regarding post-harvest management.
