Students’ Rights, Academic Freedom and Equitable Higher Education

Fighting for the Right to Access Education

Through a collaboration between SAIH (Norway), ZANEC (Zambia), Equal Education (South Africa) and YETT (Zimbabwe), the organisations will work to strengthen civil society and students’ organisations. The focus is on academic freedom, and educational- and students’ rights. The organisations will work on campaigns and advocacy for rights, by strengthening networks and solidarity within them, and increase documentation on violations against students, with an increased focus on LGBTI and women.

The exchange participants among other things facilitate meetings between student unions and youth organisations, participate in discussions on issues of students rights and research projects on higher education, students’ and youth issues. The also work on managing advocacy campaigns, host workshops, and support documentation and verification of rights violations against students.
