Since late 2016, DataDrivenFinance in Norway and Kenya have developed the concept of Collective-Based Insurance. The aim is that low-income families will be able to afford health-insurance to reduce the social and financial impact of any health issues that arise. Since the begining, DataDrivenFinance has signed live and health insurance policies for more than 10,000 poor people in Kenya for one dollar premium a year.

In Kenya, only about 20% of the population has some kind of health coverage. Through market development and analysis, branding, and automation of several manual processes, the DataDrivenFinance teams will build sustainable and cost-effective sales channels and education programmes to reach more low-income households, in addition to expanding their Collective-Based Insurance concept in Kenya and beyond.
