Why do misunderstandings in intercultural communication sometimes escalate into conflict?

Conflict is a natural part of human interaction. It can arise in any context, from everyday workplace situations to global challenges. In intercultural settings, differences in communication styles, expectations, and values can contribute to conflict. At the same time, they can also offer pathways to address it constructively.

In this webinar, we will explore how intercultural communication shapes how conflict emerges and is managed in international collaboration. We will present common situations where miscommunication can lead to tension. We will also examine how different approaches to conflict can influence outcomes.

Building on these examples, we will introduce key perspectives on conflict resolution and transformation. We will share practical tools that participants can use to navigate and address conflict more effectively in their daily work. Through reflection and discussion, you will gain a deeper understanding of how to engage with conflict in ways that support dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect.

This webinar is designed for professionals who work in international partnerships, whether in NGOs, public institutions, academia, or the private sector. It is especially relevant for those who collaborate across cultures and want to strengthen their ability to communicate and manage conflict constructively.
