Intercultural communication series: Part two – Decoding the Norwegian context
Why can working with a Norwegian context sometimes feel unclear or unexpectedly challenging?
Working across cultures is not only about adapting to others. It is also about understanding how ways of working are shaped by local context. In this session, we focus on Norway.
In this webinar, we will explore key features of the Norwegian working context. We will look at how they shape communication, collaboration, and decision making. We will share common situations that can lead to misunderstandings or frustration in international work.
We will also explore how practices and expectations in a Norwegian context may be understood in different ways. You will gain insight into how these differences affect collaboration.
Building on this, we will introduce practical tools you can use in your daily work. Annelise Ly will share concrete advice on how to approach intercultural communication in partnerships connected to Norway.
This webinar is for professionals working in international partnerships, including NGOs, public institutions, academia, and the private sector. It is especially relevant for those who work with organisations and colleagues in a Norwegian context. It is also useful for those based in Norway who want to understand how their ways of working may be perceived by others.
